Robyn A. Coward, San Francisco Bay Area

Over 20 years connecting technology, customer experience, and regulation.

I enable companies to turn scientific and regulatory complexity into market credibility, customer confidence and growth. My work has spanned across nutritional supplements, medical devices, biotechnology and food manufacturing, and healthcare technology. Over 20 years at Siemens Healthineers, QAD, and The Weather Channel, I've led global marketing, customer education, and revenue-generating businesses, and built the thought leadership programs that grew customer engagement.

The lesson from all of it: new technology only pays off when customers adopt it and keep using it. As a full-time leader or fractional partner, I build the content and customer advocacy programs that drive that adoption, translate DSHEA, FSMA, FDA, EU MDR, and EU AI Act requirements into accurate, compelling messaging, and guide customers through new technologies, especially AI, from rollout to lasting use.

Focus
Business transformation, AI, innovation, and compliance alignment across industries

On my radar now

  • QMSR is in force. The FDA's Quality Management System Regulation took effect February 2, 2026, incorporating ISO 13485 by reference.
  • CSA guidance is final. The FDA's Computer Software Assurance guidance for production and quality system software, released February 3, 2026, rewards a risk-based approach to validation.
  • Food traceability. FSMA's Food Traceability Rule is pushing food and beverage producers toward the lot-level data discipline pharma has lived with for years.
  • The EU AI Act. A good global reference for fast-moving AI, especially as agentic AI continues to evolve at breakneck pace.

Forged in FDA-regulated manufacturing. Relevant across industries.

Traceable data, validated systems, and operations that are audit-ready all the time, not just during inspection week. The disciplines that carry across FDA-regulated manufacturing are now relevant across industries, not just life sciences.

Where the disciplines were forged

Pharma, MedTech, diagnostics, supplements, food

The environments where traceable data, validated systems, and audit-ready operations are the price of admission, and where I learned to modernize without loosening a single control.

  • 21 CFR Part 11
  • QMSR
  • EU MDR
  • DSHEA
  • FSMA
  • Healthcare technology
  • Consumer goods
  • Nutritional supplements
  • AI-enabled operations

Where they apply now

Any organization with rules, data, and AI

The same discipline now decides who earns trust wherever rules, data, and AI meet, including under the EU AI Act and the rules still being written.

  • EU AI Act
  • ISO 42001
  • HITECH / HIPAA
  • Data integrity
  • Customer experience

The five problems I'm hired to solve.

Credibility, adoption, transformation, innovation, and retention: the places where companies in complex, regulated markets get stuck, and where I've spent over 20 years getting them moving.

Complexity turned into credibility.

Scientific and regulatory complexity translated into accurate, compelling messaging that earns customer confidence, whatever the rulebook: FDA, DSHEA, FSMA, EU MDR, or the EU AI Act.

Regulations and compliance

AI that gets adopted, not just piloted.

Guiding customers and teams through new technology, especially AI, from rollout to lasting use, with governance that holds as agentic AI evolves.

AI governance

Bottling machinery on a production line

Innovation that reaches the market.

Innovation

Transformation a board can measure.

Reshaping operating models, go-to-market, and cost-to-serve, with the communication that keeps boards, customers, regulators, and teams moving together.

Business transformation

Customers who adopt, and stay.

Content, customer education, and advocacy programs that turn buyers into engaged, referenceable customers, and thought leadership that keeps them engaged.

Customer adoption and retention

Over 20 years, measured in outcomes.

Eleven of them in regulated industries: imaging, laboratory diagnostics, and healthcare IT.
